- The work is defined as the product of a force and the displacement produced by the force in its direction.
- Work = Force × Displacement in the direction of force.

- Units of work in S.I system is Newton Meter(Nm) or Joule(j).
- Relation between joule and erg:
1J = 1N×1m
1erg = 1dyne×1cm
